Today’s Daily Drawing probably should have been uploaded a few weeks ago! ;)
It’s an old Fathers Day card I made for my dad, from 2011.
It features the fish we had at the time, and Alfredo (my frog - but you knew that, right?). You can see Jubei there, as well as King the goldfish behind him, Ghost the cory catfish at the top, then a few assorted guppies - I honestly can’t remember who they are meant to be! :(
This is clearly one of my earlier fish drawings, too. I think I’ve improved a lot on them since then, but I still really do like this one!
For today’s daily drawing, I wanted to do something a little different.
I have a huge stack of blank ACEOs just waiting to be used :)
A card featuring my creatures, the jubils, in their dark habitat.
My finished fish painting, which is for sale.
A photo, to show it in real life, and photographs of my two old betta fish, Arcturus and Nova, who inspired this piece.
If you are interested in purchasing it, either send me a quote in my ask box or reblog and add your price on your reblog page.
Thank you so much :)
"Tango de los Peces"
Finished piece, watercolour and inkpen.
This is for sale, details coming up soon.
Further Jubil/Jubilorum illustrations, with Jubei underneath to show the inspiration :D
He was such a handsome fish.
My little ‘fire fish’ species! :)
They start off as jubil, little cute sprats, then grow into teenage jubilescents and their adult form is a jubilorum/jubilora (depending on whether they’re male or female.)
Both their looks and their names were inspired by my beloved red betta fish, Jubei, who sadly isn’t with us any more, but started off my love of fishkeeping. :)
A bit of an ‘early bird’ cameo of creatures from a project I’m doing. :)
Maybe. Or, they’re just creatures I designed.
Either one, here they are!
These are Jubil - tiny fish with lights on their heads.
They’re not much when they’re little like this, but wait til they get older and bigger! ;)
A whole heap of fish for your eyes! :D
Fish are some of my favourite things to draw (and favourite things in general - I used to keep & breed both tropicals and coldies :)), and here you can see two recurring ‘characters’ (if you can call ‘em that), the Orandacorn and my little undead fish (to the bottom of all the just lineart fish).
I end up doodling those guys a lot when I’m just having fun like this. :)
If anybody can name all the breeds pictured in this, I’ll give them a free commission :)
(Undead fish and the guy with the little light on his head (ala an anglerfish!) above don’t count as they’re my own inventions!)
